The Haight district is a neighborhood in San Francisco famous for the “Summer of Love” in 1967 where Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, and Jefferson Airplane all lived in this neighborhood and performed in Golden Gate Park. Starting at Masonic Avenue on the east, it stretches about five city blocks down to Stanyan Street. Haight Street runs through the middle of the neighborhood where you can find vintage clothing stores, specialty shops, bars, and restaurants. Condominiums and apartments can be found just above and below Haight along Page and Waller. Once you get above Frederick Street, your options widen with more single-family homes.
