North Beach is a rare neighborhood that is both beloved by San Franciscans and is also a hit with tourists. Best known as Little Italy, this community has a high density of delis, cafes, and checked-clothed restaurants. However, the neighborhood offers a lot more than pasta, and it features some of the best bars and nightlife in the city. Additionally, North Beach is home to one of the oldest streets in the city – Grant Avenue.
North Beach houses a lot of history in its narrow streets. Homes mostly consist of standardized walkups from the early 1900s. Single family homes and high-end rentals are located up Telegraph Hill. North Beach is a very walkable neighborhood, although you can also take a bus to the rest of the city. Residents also appreciate that the community is less foggy than other parts of San Francisco, and sunny skies and plenty of culture makes North Beach an attractive living option.
