
Sunnyside is a well-loved residential community tucked near Highway 280 and several other popular neighborhoods. Most homes here were built in the mid-1900s, and they primarily consist of single-family residences. Architectural styles range from stucco abodes to Victorian homes, and both detached houses and row homes are available. Everyday conveniences can be enjoyed by walking to Monterey Boulevard, which offers quaint shops, and larger commercial districts are found in nearby Glen Park.

The City College of San Francisco is one of the largest community colleges in the country and is found in the southwestern corner of Sunnyside. The hidden gem of Balboa Park is located here and offers a playground, tennis courts, and indoor swimming pool. The Sunnyside Recreation Center also offers plenty of walking trails and picnic areas.
